'I've never seen it before' - Irish motorist baffled by Google Maps alert in car
An Irish motorist was left baffled on Friday evening after receiving a Google Maps alert while driving that they had "never seen before."
The driver was on the N80 near Portlaoise when they were alerted to a mobile speed camera just outside the town via the Google Maps system built into the car.
The alert - which appeared on the infotainment system - came about as a result of one report "from Google Maps drivers".

The alert also offered the motorist the option of confirming that the speed camera was still present at the location and once "Still there" was selected, a message popped up to say: "Thanks for helping others."
Google Maps is also alerting motorists to stalled vehicles on the road ahead of them.
