A Mayo school has been presented with a national award at the recent Our World awards which were held in Dublin.
Holy Trinity National School, Westport claimed a Rising Star Award which was presented by Minister of State for International Development and Diaspora, Neale Richmond, TD.
Fifth and Sixth class students from the Westport based school travelled to the event which was held at Dublin Castle.

The Westport pupils project, titled “A Better World,” examined the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), focusing on how global challenges such as climate change, poverty, and access to clean water can be tackled locally and globally.
The class reflected on the impact of their school community on the world around them, taking stock of both the positive and negative causes of their actions, before setting personal and group goals to look after the planet.
Holy Trinity National School, Westport, was amongst the 15 schools in Dublin Castle for the ceremony, which is run by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
