A Mayo hotel has expressed their pride as one of its workers was crowned as the Irish Hotel Employee of the Year at the Irish Hotel Federation’s (IHF) awards ceremony.

Ciara Faherty, who works in the Castlecourt Hotel in their sales department, was presented with the prestigious accolade at the event in the Gleneagle Hotel, Killarney.

Over 150 candidates were nominated. However, Ms Faherty, who has worked with the hotel in the heart of Westport since 2014, came out on top.

The ATU Sligo graduate oversees organising every aspect of a group’s stay in the 161-bed venue, and her commitment to diligence in her role did not go unnoticed by those in the IHF.

Now, with the award back in Westport, the owner of Westport Hotel Group, Joe Corcoran, has expressed his pride at her recognition on the National stage.

“We are incredibly proud that Ciara has been named IHF Employee of the Year,” stated Mr Corcoran.

“This prestigious national award is a well-deserved recognition of her hard work, professionalism, and commitment to excellence. We are honoured to see her dedication celebrated at this level.’’
