People travelling from Newport to Castlebar will need to allow extra time on their journeys, as Mayo County Council have announced that the R311 will be subject to a road closure next week.
The road, which connects the two towns, will be subjected to a stop and go system from today (Wednesday, May 7) to Friday, May 9.

From Monday, May 12 to Friday, May 16, a temporary closure will be in place on the road at Carha.
It is expected that there will be delays in the area, while local roads will be unsuitable for goods vehicles.
